Excellent gamification module! I thoroughly enjoyed Lee Sheldon’s book, especially the side quest of Level 11, as well as the video of Lee Graham’s Google+ Hangout (GHO) with Michael Matera. These were excellent resource choices in preparation for the remaining tasks in the module. The opportunity you presented us with to engage in a GHO with Michael was even more powerful. My only regret was the technical difficulties I experienced at the beginning of the session as I had never used GHO. (Just one more tool to add to my bag!) Overall I found the module quite inspiring, especially with Michael’s gamification energy. I have so much to takeaway and I’m shifting gears for my next professional goal to gamify my classroom!

Natalie,
Thanks for a great module! I liked all the different apps. I learned about new apps that I can take back and share with my colleagues or use in my classroom.

Brian,
The learning about BYOD was a good experience. I liked the videos. I especially liked the day 5 video, I bookmarked it to share with my colleagues. The course work was very manageable which was nice.

Scott,
Thank you for your BYOD resources and ideas presented in your module. As I said before, I truly appreciated your simplicity as this allowed me to focus on the tasks at hand. Your suggested readings and videos were short and to the point. This keeps the participants paying attention and moving ahead without losing students. (I only wish I had a device back in middle and high school to record my auditions for chair placement in band. What a challenge recording on cassettes!) The straightforwardness of your module allowed me ample time to reflect upon my learning and my current use of BYOD in my classroom. I liked the “chance to plan”. This was a strong collaboration tool and allowed participants to share ideas to gain more takeaways. Nice work Scott!

Natalie,
I really enjoyed going through your module. I like how you effectively incorporated Note Master (in my case EverNote) into the module because I am able to refer back to this during the school year to see what I enjoyed about each app. I also liked learning about QR Codes. I am excited to try integrating them into my mathematics instruction as well as other content areas. Finally, I am a big fan of positive reinforcement so thanks for emailing badges as we completed things. Great experience.

Alison,
I enjoyed your module. I still have so much to learn about MInecraft EDU. I spent time really exploring the different blocks and their uses as they were presented in the You Tube video you included in your module. My plan for the future is to spend some time messing around with the different world templates you included in your module also. Google Plus was a great way to provide a collaborative atmosphere. I enjoyed receiving updates through my Google account. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Sara and Alison,
I enjoyed both of your modules (to the extent that I had time to complete them... I've been finishing cabin construction and moving this week). I signed up for them because I see the potential for both Minecraft and game-ification in my own classroom, and I think that a lot of my students will enjoy the things that I might be able to do as a result. The only tricky part (and this is the tricky part with literally everything I learn in the these ed tech classes that makes me think, "Wow, that's great! I'd love to use that!") is how to use these tools to help students meet standards (and not just to use them in an elective context). It seems challenging, but is definitely doable (given enough time to plan), and both of your modules showed me ways that other teachers are already doing it (which gives me a good place to start). Thank you both, I learned a lot and am feeling inspired!
Jon and Brian,
Excellent modules. Your topics allowed me to research and think about things I can (and will) add to my classroom this year. The videos, questions, and discussions were an excellent guide as I learned more about BYOD, Tablets, Laptops, apps, and Cloud Computing. All of these are hot topics in education and will continue to grow exponentially in the next few years. I added several of your links and videos to my collection of online resources. Thank you for providing excellent lessons.
